Gearing up for his performance. I'm sure all the professional singers squish their lips together before a big show.
Below is the best shot I have of his class. Thankfully Matt had a prime spot up front and video taped the whole thing. Right when it started I got up to chase Annie and lost my spot. You can actually see her on the far end. She got away from me and joined the class. She's pretty convinced she's 3 and is in Charlie's class. Oh and she has a song about Santa being Up On The Housetop in her heart and she had to get it out.
Visiting and loving Santa.
Staying as far from Santa as possible.
So that was the night. As we were cleaning up one of the other mom's said to me didn't Charlie have the best expression on his face when he ran over to Santa's lap? I missed it thanks to Miss Running Scared Pants. I don't know how people with more than 2 kids do it. I feel like I miss enough of the cool moments with just the 2 of them.
.
Anyways. It was a fun night. Santa gave each of the kids a new book so they were pretty pumped about that. Oh and since I'm in the bragging mood I'll just go ahead and put it out there that Charlie won his classes 12 day Read-a-Thon. He read (was read) the most books so he not only got a book for participating but he got another book for reading the most. I kind of wish they gave him a certificate because I feel like this is the first of many reading contests this boy is going to win in his life.
.
141 books (on record) in 12 days is what it takes to win a preschool contest of this nature. This doesn't include the books he looks at by himself in the morning while he's waiting for me to get out of bed (that sounds bad but really we're talking about the hour from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. Come on. Mama needs her rest too.).

Charlie looks very professional in his sports jacket and tie. Also - that little boy in the striped shirt standing next to him is awesome. You can tell he was taking the performance very seriously!
