It was a low key day spent at work. I surprised him by arranging yet another snowfall so he could come home from work and spend an hour shoveling and snow throwing the driveway. He was absolutely thrilled.
Ignoring the let down of any birthday fanfare his 32nd year is actually starting off really great. He finally managed to land a new job at his dream company (a locally owned bank, I feel like I shouldn't say the name in case someone Googles it and ends up here). He's leaving the actuarial field behind and starting a new career as a bond manager.
His first day is tomorrow and he couldn't be more excited. I've never seen someone so happy to take a pay cut, agree to work more hours, go from wearing jeans to full on suits, start paying for parking, and lose all his seniority. There's truly no sarcasm in that last sentence. All that stuff is true and he really is excited.
He's still in school but he reduced his class load to just 1 class for winter semester so that he could focus on the new job.
So happy birthday hubs and here's to a fresh start!

Congratulations Matt! Does that mean when he comes home from work, he'll slip on some sweats but keep his business shirt & tie on?! Ahhh...the good ol' days. :)
Congrats to the hubby on the new job! And how thoughtful of you to arrange for more snow on his birthday!
Nice work Matt! I'm so happy for you and agree with the appealing idea of career seperates. And nice work on the snow, J-net. Were you in charge of the dump this weekend, too? ha ha ha
