Baby Annie is 8 months old now. As I say every month: wow. I feel like I should summarize all her developments so that when I look back I'll remember. Somehow its easier to do here than in her baby book. So here goes.
.
She crawls (still not in the traditional sense, its really more of an army crawl).
.
She sits.
.
She eats baby food. I gave her some Cheerios today and she seemed to dig them.
.
She has 3 teeth.
.
Last night she slept from 8:30 - 7:15 which was the best gift she's given me in a long time. Lately she's been waking up 1-2 times to eat at night and 1-2 times just crying for no reason (I usually just pop her paci back in and she's back to sleep but I still have to get up out of bed to do it so I'm ready for it to stop.). We've had more nights than I care to count where I'm out of bed 4 times.
.
She babbles and makes sounds that sound like 'da da da da'. For obvious reasons we're not counting this as talking. Once the sounds morph into 'ma ma ma' then we'll be getting out the official baby book and declaring her first word.
.
Another thing we've (read: Matt) been working on with her is standing. Matt gets out a bar stool, positions her on her feet, puts her hands on one of the rungs, and helps her stand. This was fun until last night I went into her room and she was standing in her crib holding on to the railing. Now I'm regretting letting him teach her this trick. I kind of feel like she could flop herself out of her crib if she was mad enough (which last night she pretty much was thanks to a blistery diaper rash that turned her into something resembling a monster).
.
That's the basic Annie update. Charlie is really turning into a great big brother. The other day I overheard him singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to her and when he was done he goes "Annie, do you like that song?". Her response? "Da da da da". I told him that means yes in Annie talk. I think he bought it.
