Big Changes for a Big Boy

This may seem like a lot of pictures and a lot of words for a topic as small as new furniture but to a 1 year old this isn't just about new furniture - its about growing up.

On Saturday Charlie and Matt assembled a new shelf unit to hold all Charlie's books and toys (thanks Grandma and Grandpa Anda for the early Christmas gift!) as well as a new TODDLER BED!

This is the finished toy storage unit.

This is the almost-finished bed. Note the life-size Elmo doll strategically placed on the floor? That's to break Charlie's fall should he roll a little too far to the right. Notice the teddy bear stuffed between the wall and the bed? That's to prevent his arm from getting stuck (which happened on night one).

This is the totally-finished bed. I made him a Seahawks fleece blanket to help keep him extra warm this winter (and to tie in all the blue on his bed with the green bins on the storage unit of course). Turns out he doesn't really like the blanket though. Matt asked him if we should just give it to the rats at the dump - and he responded "YES!". If only he knew the patience it took to make that for him (and the money, fabric isn't cheap my friend)...I'm sure he would have responded differently.

So now he can reach his tunes all by himself...

...which allows for him to have little dance parties on his bed. I should probably teach him not to stand or jump on his bed but its just so darn cute to watch him shake his hips!

Crazy stuff! We just made everyone in our families a Seahawk scarf with the same exact fleece - neon green and all. stupid NFL stuff wasn't on sale, even on black friday $12.99 per yard at Joann Fabrics on Francis. lame.
Very awesome blanket, I would like it! I can't believe that baby is such a big boy now. I think it's time to call him Charles for reals.

It's 25% off right now at Joanne if you need more scarves...

too late, already finished. i would give them a piece of my mind there about licensed products being so expensive if i weren't afraid of their sharp scissors.

WOW, a big boy bed...how exciting! Isn't it amazing how fast they grow up?
