I just re-read last year's post and apparently I was shooting for 1:10. Should have read that this morning, maybe it would have changed the way I ran. Likely not though as I ran as fast as my drumsticks would take me. My time this year was 1:17 which is my fastest Bloomsday yet (this was my 6th). I think it was the all blue outfit that did it. It made me happy to be dressed so Smurfette like and happy people run faster (not proven but seems likely).
On a more serious note though I've been battling a pulled hamstring (self-diagnosed but I'm pretty sure I'm right) and I haven't been able to run in a week. I told myself this morning that it's just 7.46 miles, you can play through the pain. And guess what? I actually did! I don't usually try very hard at hard stuff and today I actually did. Look who's growing up!
2 more weeks till the 1/2 marathon. I actually think I might be ready?!
Oh and doesn't my Dad look cute in his running gear? He finished with a pace of 14:53 minutes/mile. So great for being 61 - good job Dad!

Even with my new running skillz, I think you're nuts for doing a 1/2 marathon. Good for you though. You're kind of a big deal. : )
