As promised I will now proceed to tell you how the iPhone has not only changed my life but made me a better person. I'll start off by saying pre-iPhone Jeannette found people with smartphones totally annoying. I'm going there.
For some reason it has become totally acceptable to just bust out your phone and start texting or facebooking someone you find more interesting than the person you're currently talking to while they're still talking. Sure, not all smartphone users do this, but sadly so many do that it's just accepted now. I could launch in to a whole post featuring my husband right now but it's too easy. Fish in a barrel easy.
So since I have had many years to observe others (MATT) I have made the conscious decision to use my phone for good and not evil. I have downloaded an app that promises to get me from the couch to a 1/2 marathon in 5 months. It has me working out 4 days a week and it gradually encourages me to increase the length of time I work out each week. It offers me tips like run for 2 minutes walk for 3, repeat for 20 minutes. It knows I've been spending a lot of time on the couch and just getting up and running for 20 minutes isn't going to happen. The app is genius and I've actually been keeping up with it for all 10 days I've owned my phone. It's in my head.
So in summary: the phone has taught me what kind of smartphone user I want to be and it has got my big butt moving again. Sadly *for you* this might just be the first of many posts about how great my phone is. I may not text while you're talking to me, but I will blog about how other people do and how it drives me crazy. Hopefully this is less annoying (reminder: you can stop reading anytime).
And with that I'm out. I have to go record my zumba class I just got home from on my training app.

I am trying not to be annoying, but it's hard. :)
