Christmas tree picking.
We went up to GreenBluff on Friday and picked out our Christmas tree. We literally (and I don't really mean literally) cut down the first one we saw. It was the biggest tree in a sea of little trees and it wasn't a very far walk and it was cold so we went for it.
As Matt was sawing he asked me to pull on the tree to help it go faster. The needles were so spiky (this looks spelled wrong but spell checker is giving me no better options) they were spiking me through my gloves so I basically refused to help until he gave me his think work gloves (who wants to be married to me?!).
We figured the needles were extra spiky because they were frozen and we (not really we, 100% Matt) had already started cutting (not with scissors as Annie had assumed) so we kept at it.
Got it home and warmed it up and the needles were still too spiky to touch. The kids refused to put the ornaments on because it hurt too bad.
Ahhh...the crap we go through for Christmas. So fun.

So this would be the year to put all of the beautiful, breakable, not-for-children ornaments on your tree since the kids won't want to touch it...right? I will be poking my fingers while "fluffing" the "branches" of our incredibly fake tree this weekend. Good times.
