(Charlie and Annie warming up before the game)
Charlie was down in his overall kicks from last week's high of 8 with just about 6 kicks today, but I think his overall comprehension of the game is getting better. Yes, we count how many times he kicks the ball in each game. The ball rolled over his feet at one point, we didn't count that as a kick.
.
There's a little guy on his team that runs the whole show (including cool moves like stealing the ball from his own teammates), however at age 4 there's not a whole lot you can do about it. You don't want to stand up and yell at him because then you'd look like one of those crazy parents that's way too into their kid's sport. I am a crazy parent (counting kicks) but I don't want all eyes to turn on me at once. I'm happy being quietly crazy. Plus Charlie seems happy that he doesn't really have to do anything and they still win every game.
.
So as I sit on the sidelines week after week I just start thinking about how at Math Olympiad competition in 6 or 7 years I'll have my day. Until then I'll just shut up.
