ahhhh Saturday

Today is Saturday. Normally a very relaxing day. I don't feel relaxed though. Anxious is really a better fit for this Saturday. Tomorrow is the big Bloomsday race (a 12k race here in Spokane). This happens every year, I don't train enough, I pretty much do it totally unprepared, and I totally die on the course like the big fatty fatterson that I am.

This year I went the extra mile, not literally, and got my co-workers all psyched up that we're going to beat the other 2 CPA firms in our division of the Corporate Cup. I made big promises that if we average an hour 20 we can do it. It's going to be insanely awkward when their ring leader can't cut it. I'd lie to them but the results are published online for anyone to access.

So here I sit. With lying off the table it's time to just deal with the reality that is my out of shape behind.

I'll move on for the sake of the post but know that my mind is still on my Bloomsday problems.

Below is Charlie decorating his shirt for the Marmot March (a 1 mile race for kids). He gave the marmot a green penis. Necessary? Not sure. I thought it might be a female marmot until Charlie declared what color his penis was going to be. Are all little boys this obsessed or just mine? Annoying. Super proud of his "art".

Annie decorated her shirt too but did it in record time. See, she needed time to get a puzzle out that is years beyond her, dump it all over the floor, and ask me for "hewlp" while I'm trying to manage the no-paint-on-the-counter situation and make dinner at the same time.
So these are my little marmots all dressed up and ready to run this morning.
Joined by a cousin marmot just before the race.
After the race (which ended with me carrying Annie for just over half of it...yea!) we went over to Riverfront Park since we have these great passes that let us ride the rides for free all summer. Not really free, I said that because I'm not focused, I paid for the silly passes. They're silly passes now because Annie screamed once the planes took off.

Both kids screamed as we were trying to force them onto the Strawberry ride.

And both kids screamed when we got on the carousal. Wow that's a hard word for me to spell. Spell check didn't even give me any reasonable options when I spelled it the way that made sense in my head.

Due to the screaming Matt was the only one who rode an actual horse on the carousal. The kids and I rode the bench like losers.

So the passes might have been a total rip off this year. I guess at least Matt will get his $33 worth.
.
Oh speaking of my head not being in the present here's what else is going on.
.
Matt made me a deal that if I earned enough extra money to prepay for the rest of 2010 at the YMCA we could get a membership. So I've been working extra hours (love being hourly) and selling everything I can think of on Craigslist and Amazon.
.
Anyone need a wedding dress or some old actuary textbooks? I'll make you a really good deal. I only need $150 more to reach my goal and I'm sick of doing legitimate work so I'll pretty much sell you anything in our house for $150. By anything I mean my wedding dress or anything Matt owns.
.
Charlie woke up and is needing some books read to him so I'm out. Wish me luck tomorrow and let me know if you want any of my husband's old jeans!

just an observation... but 4 passes at $33 each would have put you pretty close to the $150... Just saying, but I know what you think of my comments. Love you sister!

#1 we only had to buy 3 passes (Annie's still free).

#2 we bought the passes weeks ago, our YMCA deal just got concocted last weekend.

#3 that was a legit comment and one I would have left for you so no hard feelings :)
