The classic 1st day of school picture:
Charlie started school on Tuesday. This year he gets to go 2 days a week - 1 day I stay and 1 day I drop him off. So Tuesday was my "drop off day" and I was super nervous he would sit in the corner all day, looking at his shoes, refusing to talk to anyone, wetting his pants.
.
Much to my surprise none of that happened! He totally rocked the school scene. When I got back I got a full report from some of the moms who stayed and Charlie quote: didn't even look for you once! This made me sad for a brief second but then extremely proud - I knew my little man could do it! He sang all the songs, lined up when he was supposed to line up, didn't pee his pants, all the things he was supposed to do he did.
.
So on Thursday I got to stay through class. Since it's a co-op I had a "job" for my stay-day so I was in charge of snack. I had Miss Annie with me which is going to be pretty much going to prove to be the biggest challenge of the year. As I'm setting out snack she's climbing on the tables putting the cups in her mouth, trying to eat the cheese sticks out of the plastic wrap. I was able to tame her briefly by opening a cheese and getting her to sit in a chair. She can't just sit though, she has to put her feet on the table and lean back in the chair. Such a bad example.
.
The 3-year olds washed their hands and came in for snack. They all had great manners and said please/thank you when they needed something. Annie on the other hand did her more sign with her hands and chanted "mo mo mo". I'm thinking next week I pack her straight jacket and park her in the corner for the 2-hour class.

Wow, sounds pretty exciting! Toddlers keep you busy I hear! I remember my mom taking pictures of us on all of our first days of school and thinking it was dumb but now that I am older I think it is so cute and totally get it!!!
Just think - 18 more pictures :) I wonder if they will allow us to take pictures of them when they go off to college? :) Congrats Charlie on your first day of school.
We are only allowed to bring our youngest to co-op preschool until they are 6 months old and they must be in a front pack. Now I know why!
