the nutshell post

Summary of our weekend:

Matt and I dropped the kids off at the in laws on Thursday night and then got up super early Friday to catch a flight to Medford Oregon.

We transferred planes in Portland and I couldn't help myself from taking a picture of this sign above the toilet. You push up for "#1" and down for "#2". If this is green I don't want to be right. On Saturday Matt performed the wedding ceremony for his high school buddy Jace. It was a beautiful ceremony in Jessica's parents backyard (which looks out over the Rogue River).

Matt spent the reception catching up with old friends while I spent my time explaining to people that Matt has not gone into the ministry. Anyone with an email address and the desire to speak in front of crowds can become ordained online in about 4 seconds.

On Sunday we got up early to catch our flight home only to be told our plane would be delayed by about 30 minutes and because of that we'd miss our connection in Portland. Upon touching down they announced that all the Spokane passengers could get off first, run through the airport, and actually make their connecting flight. We did that, made it, our bags did not.
.
However as far as bag losing scenarios go this was probably the best one. The airline delivered our bags later that evening so besides being without a swimsuit for our afternoon at the lake it really was no problem.
.
So after we got back in the car we drove straight to the in-laws to see our little kiddos.
This is the new make-shift water slide Matt's Grandpa built for the kids. Charlie LOVED it. (I'm sure Aunt Claudine is going to be thrilled I put her boobs on the internet...)
And finally, this is me, my sweet baby girl, my rooster imitating boy, and my hunchback.

All in all it was a very fun weekend and a nice chance to get away and just be adults for a weekend. Thanks Ken and Cheryl for taking such good care of Charlie and Annie!

I'm glad you had a great time - Kyle and I were thinking of all of you (Jace & Jess included) this weekend! The fun plane toilets are very similar to the ones at our new shmancy YMCA. The ones at the YMCA have an amazing color diagram though.
