I placed 1st!

That was meant to mislead. I placed 1st among people with the same last name. There were 7 of us (and no, I don't know any of them) and I killed them.

Yesterday was Bloomsday (a 12k race here in Spokane) and even though my mom told me to skip it due to my never-ending cough/month-long cold/swine flu I opted to ignore her warnings and go. I'm so glad I did too (as evidenced by my super cheesy smile pictured below).
My whole goal was to beat my time of 1 hour 29 minutes from 2005 when I was, sadly, in the best shape of my life. I didn't make my goal but I did manage to finish in 1 hour 31 minutes, just 2 minutes slower. No too shabby for being 4 years older, birthing 2 kids, being sick, and having a whole lot more junk in my trunk.
.
Oh and I set a new goal for next year: to beat my brother-in-law Justin. He got me by 6 minutes this year. It's on Justin. Next year look out because it's my year to not only place 1st among people with the same last name but also 1st among people I'm related to!
.
Randomly I set another goal while I was running yesterday that I feel like sharing...to unload a little of the junk? I feel like I could run a little faster without all that weight back there. I've got about 364 days to work on my experiment, I'll keep you posted on my *progress*.

Nice work, Ring. I wish I could challenge you but I'm pretty sure the longest run I've ever done was 2 miles. Challenge that! :)
