Turn 3 you will.

Tomorrow is Charlie's birthday party with his friends so tonight my mission was to make a Yoda cake. This time I started with a plain, white cake from Costco. I figured that way it would be a nice big canvas for my "art" and it would for sure taste good.

Then I sketched my version of Yoda with a toothpick, and outlined it in chocolate frosting. Then I just went at it with my cake decorating tips and filled in the outline.

The result is a little more scary-cake-alien than Yoda but hopefully our guests will get the idea. Since we're making light sabers (out of foam pool noodles) at the party I'm hoping everyone understands the theme and doesn't give me a hard time. And if they chose to take the low road they will be shown the door with no Yoda cake in their bellies to speak of!

You are so creative! I make the kids' cakes for their birthdays, but I definitely use a cake pan and have instructions. No free sketching here...you're amazing!

when I put my laptop down, Yoda stares at me no matter where I am in the room. :)

But seriously.... pretty impressive!

Happy birthday to Charlie!

By the way - you're rad. Poor Andrew will be lucky if I remember to buy him a cake for his parties... :)
