We went to a party for Tristan and Alanna (Matt's cousin's kids) this weekend and they were turning 5 and 4, respectively. So, naturally, their friends were 5 and 4. Come pinata time the kids were all jacked up and ready to wail on the pinatas.
.
Charlie watched all the other kids so when it was his turn he was ready. He got the stick and pretty much walked up to it and just touched it with the stick. Jodi let him hit it like 10 times since there was no way he was going to ruin it for the next kid in line (the other kids only got to hit it 3 times).
.
I think if he'd have known it was full of candy he would have put a little more back into it. But not knowing what the point of all the hitting was made it hard to grasp.
.
Once candy started spilling out though it was totally survival of the fittest. Kids were running all over the place filling their bags with as much candy as they could grab. Little Charlie would run up to a piece just to have it snatched up by a bigger kid. Then he'd turn and go for another piece, not missing a beat, and a kid would show up out of no where and snatch it too.
.
By the time the second pinata came around he got the concept a little better. He ran up, got a piece of candy, and immediately sat down and opened it and ate it. Don't worry, Big Mama stepped in and filled his bag for him. When it comes to chocolate I can overpower 4 and 5 year olds like nobodies business!

Did you let Charlie dress Matt again? Track pants and a dress shirt, come on, almost like camo shorts and a plaid shirt.
