The trip to the dentist actually went well! It started out a little shaky - the hygienist asked how many teeth he had and he told her 3 and then pressed his lips together. She asked if she could count them herself and he said no. So I'm thinking here we go. What a waste of $100.
But then like a ray of sunshine the dentist walks in, asks him to open up and (drum roll.....) he does!
Charlie sat straddling me and then laid back with his head in the dentist's lap. The dentist said all 20 teeth have come in - which we were wondering about because he's been chewing on his fingers lately and we thought maybe he had more coming. He's probably just mimicking Annie though because she's a big finger sucker.
After counting his teeth the dentist wanted to give him a fluoride treatment that he would paint on his teeth. Again, I'm like here we go, he's going to hate this. Turns out what they give to kids is way better than what we get. The dentist said its so good he's been tempted to put it on crackers and snack on it. Ahhh...dental humor. So Charlie just laid there and let him do it.
Anyways. At the end the dentist said he was so good that he could pick 2 prizes from the prize drawer. He got a car and a cockroach of all things. I'm just waiting to spot the cockroach out of the corner of my eye and have a mild heart attack. I may have to "lose" it for him.
That's it. We go back in 6 months so they can attempt a real teeth cleaning (instead of a counting and fluoride session).

Oh man, I hope my appointment next week goes this way, but it's highly doubtful since mine is for a root canal! Charlie is such a good little boy!
Way to go Charlie! I will let you know how Baker does next week :)
