My dear sweet Miss Annie is 5 months old today. I realize every mom thinks this but it's actually true for me: she's the cutest, sweetest baby on Earth.
At 5 months she's squealing and babbling like crazy. She looks into your eyes and makes all kinds of noises. I think she truly believes you can understand her nonsense.
If she gets hold of your thumb it goes instantly into her mouth. Her own thumb? Not so exciting. Your thumb? Money.
She rolls over back to front and front to back. It's actually kind of problem because I'll feed her, lay her on her back, and she'll instantly roll onto her stomach and barf. I tell her to stay on her back and let her milk settle but she ignores me time after time.
She's taking a liking to sleeping in her crib and will actually stay asleep from about 8 pm to 4:30 am. I've started rocking her to sleep on occasion, not because she likes it, but because I do. After her 4:30'ish feeding I'm always tempted to hold her in the recliner while she sleeps a couple more hours because she's just so happy to be held and she fits so nicely in my arms. But my need for sleep generally wins after a few minutes of cuddling and she ends up back in the crib until Charlie wakes the house up around 7.
Charlie's so used to her presence these days that I don't think he even remembers the glory days before she arrived. He loves to share his play food with her - just this morning he offered her tarter sauce on a potato chip (all pretend). It's so nice that he includes her in his play. When she toots he'll say "Annie needs a clean, fresh diaper". He's such a helpful big brother!
Still no teeth and still no sitting or crawling. I'm fine without her hitting any more big milestones though. I've decided I'm good with her being a precious little bambino forever!
