Woodland Park

A couple weeks ago on our way back from the coast (that's what Spokanites call the entire westside of the state) we stopped at Woodland Park Zoo. Since we're zoo-less in Spokane this was a big adventure for us.

We just had a few hours to spend so we basically ran around, saw an animal, and then ran to look for the next one. Charlie enjoyed himself and had a whole zoo repertoire going for the entire following week. He'd tell us that the monkey was wearing a blanket and hiding. The tiger roared. There were 5 giraffes (which is a lie, there were only 3, but he likes to tell people there were 5). All sorts of facts would shoot out of him if you asked how the zoo was. The zoo was so gigantic it even had a petting zoo area. I voted to skip it since we could probably find some goats in Spokane to pet but Matt insisted. Charlie walked right up to them and petted away so I guess its a good thing we made time for it. Miss Annie slept the whole time. Good little monkey.

Sorry for the lack of pictures. Like I said, it was a quick trip.
